Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that either reduces or reshapes the labia minora of the external genitalia.
If the labia are too large, they can present an aesthetic concern, as they may be visible when wearing swimwear, and can also cause friction against underwear during physical activities, such as cycling.
They can also be problematic during sexual intercourse as they may cause interference, which can lead to reduced self-esteem in women and sexual inhibitions.
Treatment
Labiaplasty takes approximately 30 minutes, is performed under local anesthesia, and patients are discharged within half an hour after the procedure.
While complications are possible, they are fortunately rare (bleeding, wound dehiscence, bruising). After the procedure, we advise against vaginal intercourse and bathing in water for one month.
