Laura Jekler is the director of Klinika BUT, bringing over 20 years of international banking experience in preventing, detecting, and investigating financial fraud. She has now fully dedicated her acquired organizational skills to the management of Klinika BUT.
Laura is a visionary director, always keeping pace with modern approaches. She is involved in strategic management, fosters relationships with partners and patients, and is responsible for the comprehensive development of Klinika BUT. Furthermore, she oversees the development of marketing content and ensures that operations comply with the highest standards.
Prof. Dr. Igor But, MD, Senior Advisor
Who is Dr. Igor But?
Prim. Prof. Dr. But is a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, with a particular specialization in urogynecology, where he focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and bladder issues. His subspecialty also includes laparoscopic surgery, where he operates on the most complex benign gynecological diseases, including deep pelvic endometriosis. He has introduced numerous diagnostic and therapeutic methods into clinical practice. Professor But is an advocate for less invasive treatment approaches (operative laparoscopy, outpatient hysteroscopy, incontinence procedures under local anesthesia) and is one of the leading experts in this field in the wider region.
Prim. Prof. Dr. But is also recognized as an international trainer for gynecologists from European countries (Germany, France, Czech Republic, Israel, Greece, Serbia, Croatia, Switzerland), as well as from other regions (Lebanon, Taiwan).
In addition to his clinical work, Professor But is also dedicated to nurturing the next generation of medical professionals through his scientific research and teaching activities. He is a full professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Maribor, a scientific advisor, and a senior health advisor. He also mentors students in master’s and doctoral studies and serves as the primary and direct mentor for gynecology and obstetrics residents. Furthermore, he is a supervisory mentor in the field of emergency medicine.
He publishes scientific articles in prestigious international journals. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for numerous important international journals with impact factors in the fields of gynecology and urogynecology.
Prim. Prof. Dr. But is also a co-founder and long-time president of the humanitarian association INKONT, which has been raising public awareness about issues caused by urinary incontinence and other urogynecological problems since 2000.
Due to his exceptional long-term work in all areas (professional, educational, research, and popular science), the Ministry of Health of Slovenia awarded him the prestigious title of Primarius in 2025.

Sonja Ciglar is a registered nurse who is an experienced and dedicated professional in the field of surgical instrumentation. During her long career at UKC Maribor, her superior technical knowledge has contributed to many successfully performed procedures and the related satisfaction of patients.
Sonja is always precise and calm, and with exceptional responsibility, she ensures the flawless preparation and execution of surgical procedures and oversees the sterilization process at Klinika BUT.

Vida Hrastnik is a medical nurse with more than 15 years of experience in medical care and is known for her empathetic, calm and professional approach.
She began her professional career in Slovenia in an outpatient setting and enhanced her valuable experience by working in neighboring Austria.
Vida takes care of patient scheduling at our Clinic and provides care before, during and after medical procedures, as she believes in a personal approach, quality care and modern treatment methods.
